2. Prakash

A Dinesh Raut film, starring Pradeep Khadka as Prakash is a story about a young man from a remote village who wants to be a teacher but is challenged by corruption and the circumstances created by the economic hardship to fulfill his dream. The movie looks promising because it is able to portray the life of remote Nepal accurately. The cast also looks amazing including Deeya Maskey, Prakash Ghimire, Rajan Khatiwada, Pradip Raut, Rina Yogi, and so on making it one of the most anticipated movies of 2079. The movie is set to release on Bhadra 10.

3. Jaar

Based on the original story of writer Indra Bahadur Rai, the new Nepali movie Jaar is an adaptation of the story Aaja Ramita Cha by Rai himself. Directed by Phurba Lama, the cast includes stars like Saugat Malla, Geetanjali Thapa, and Anoop Bikram Shahi in the lead. The cinematically aesthetic scene and the amazing background scores look very pleasing. The story takes place in1890s back when the practice of Jaar was relevant. Jaar was a social culture among Nepali-speaking communities in the past wherein a man can face harsh punishment if he has an illicit relationship with a married woman.

Khagendra Lamichhane’s directorial debut Pani Photo stars Menuka Pradhan, Anup Baral, Malika Mahat, Ramesh Adhikari, Prakash Ghimire, Maotse Gurung, Buddhi Tamang, and Lamichhane himself. Written by Khagendra himself the story revolves around parents searching for their lost child. The movie is set to release on Shrawan 19, 2079.

5. Kaussidd

Kaussidd is an upcoming Nepali movie directed by Kumar Bhaskar. The cast includes Bholaraj Sapkota, Reeccha Sharma, Rupesh Dahal, Parikshit Bickram Rana, Sadikshya Gautam, Nirbhik Bhattarai, and Sandeep Lohani. The movie has only released its first look which seems very interesting. People are eagerly waiting for the teaser trailer and the official release date.

6. Abhinna

Based on the novel Langada ko Saathi by Sir Lain Singh Bangdel, Abhinna is a story of a beggar who has been abandoned by his family. The film directed by Prashant Rasaily stars Karma as the lead who plays the role of a disabled beggar in the alleys of Darjeeling. The acting of Karma in the trailer has left fans in awe. The team has not set the official release date but is expected to release it this year.

7. Dokh

Dokh, a movie by Anup Baral featuring Deeya Maskey, Manish Niraula, Lokman, and Maotse Gurung is another much-awaited movie of 2079. According to director Anup Baral, the film has shown a rift between two villages over the ownership issue of a community forest. The production team is confident that the story of the film will touch the hearts of the Nepali audience. The movie is set to release on Asar 24, 2079.

8. Radha-The secret of Radha

‘Radha -The secret of Radha’ is a film co-produced by Subarna Thapa and Saugat Malla. The film starring Shristi Shrestha tells a story of a single mother and her struggle. The film conveys the message of women’s empowerment. The social drama also won the grant of Rs. 1 million in the Busan film festival 2017 so, the anticipation is quite high. The film is releasing on Bhadra 10.

Rudane is a new Nepali movie made on the biopic of legendary politician-philosopher Rup Chandra Bista.
