It has been discovered that all seven patients who died from COVID-19 in the last 11 days were unvaccinated.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), six of these seven patients had not been vaccinated, while one had only received a single dose. Six of them were over 50, with one at 36.
According to MoHP, 7,212,622 people have already been jabbed with booster doses. Likewise, 91.6 percent of the school-going students have received their first dose, with 88 percent having received all three doses.
The rising concern
In a worrying development, Nepal reported 638 new instances of COVID-19 on Tuesday along with two deaths.
Health experts believe that the number of active and new cases of Covid-19 in Nepal increased in tandem with the rate of infection in India.
Covid-19 infection is on the rise in India. Thousands of people are crossing the Nepal-India border into Nepal. The infection has been detected in those who enter Nepal through those points. Those individuals are spreading the infection, as per the doctors.
According to the Epidemiology and Disease Control Division (EDCD), many people traveling from India to Nepal are testing positive for coronavirus, implying that the majority of these cases may have been infected by the new variants. The border between Nepal and India accounts for approximately 35% of coronavirus cases.
As people’s and businesses’ daily lives return to normal, the general public is seen largely defying Covid-19 safety protocols, potentially triggering the next wave of Covid-19 infection in the coming days.
