Somnium Space is working on ways for people to communicate with their loved ones even after they pass away. All it takes is a lot of personal information.

Artur Sychov is the founder and CEO of Somnium Space, one of the many metaverses that have sprung up in recent years. Somnium Space, unlike many of its rivals, is already compatible with virtual reality headsets. It also provides a fully immersive 3D experience for its users.

Sychov’s father’s death inspired him to create the ‘Live Forever’ mode. A new feature in Somnium Space that allows individuals to have their movements and conversations recorded as data. These data are then copied as an avatar that walks, talks, and sounds like a human and does so even after they die. People will be able to communicate with their deceased loved ones at any time in this mode.

“People will be able to meet with their deceased loved ones using the collected data, and they will not realize it is an AI for the first 10 minutes. That is the objective,” said Artur Sychov.

These are the kinds of prospective innovations, according to Sychov, that make the metaverse a worthwhile investment. “They believe it’s all about selling NFTs and brands marketing their products, but it’s not,” he explained. “It goes a lot deeper.”

Somnium Space has also invested in and worked with Teslasuit. It is a business that is developing a full-body haptic suit for virtual reality. But has no ties to Elon Musk. According to Sychov, the suit will not only allow users to receive electrical sensations similar to human touch. But it will also provide additional data thanks to the installation of a medical-grade biometric scanner that records cardiac and stress levels.

By next year, Somnium Space intends to have the first set of AI copies of its users available. Here humans will be replaced by avatars with basic conversational abilities. The beauty of this concept is that your data will continue to evolve in sync with AI technology. According to Synchov, when AI advances, a better version of you will be generated.
