The Nepali Army will participate in a month-long joint military training with the US Army. The joint exercise of the two countries’ armies will take place from Shrawan 31 to Bhadra31, according to the Public Relations and Information Directorate of the Nepali Army.
A joint exercise will be held between the ranger units of the Nepali Army’s Sri Singh Mahavir Planning and Coordination Division and the US Army unit.
The joint training/exercise will include 80 Nepalese Army personnel and 16 American Army personnel, totaling 96 personnel in the Chauni and Nagarkot areas.
The army stated in a statement that the joint military exercises will focus on the Laws of Armed Conflict and the Military Decision Making Process (MDMP). An American army team led by Captain Blake Duckatel arrived in Nepal on Monday for military exercises.
Even though the Nepali Army has been cooperating with US Army special forces since the Maoist conflict, it has been conducting ‘Balance Nail’ and ‘Technail’ as a joint military exercise since 2015.
The Nepali army has also been participating in joint military exercises with the armies of India and China. Nepal began the Nepal-India ‘Suriya Kiran’ joint military exercise with India in 2011. Similarly, Nepal participated in the Nepal-China ‘Sagarmatha Maitripoorna’ joint military exercise in 2017 with the People’s Liberation Army of China.
