Nepal imported liquor worth 3.75 arbas in the last 12 months as per the data revealed by the department of customs.

Alcohol in Nepal is associated with its culture, society, and ethnic groups. Nepal has its own different kind of alcohol which is rich in taste such as Chyang, aila, Jand, etc. However, the consumption of alcohol in Nepal is not limited to its local production. Nepal has been spending a huge sum of money every year on purchasing foreign alcohol. Do you wonder how much money Nepal spends on importing whiskey from other countries annually?

It was discovered that different kinds of foreign alcoholic beverages worth nearly 3.75 Arba rupees were imported into Nepal in a single year.

According to the Customs Department, Nepal imported alcohol from various nations during the most recent fiscal year 2078/79 which was equivalent to around Rs 3.71 Arba. The department reveals that foreign alcohol worth 3 Arba 71 crore 15 lakh 16 thousand rupees entered Nepal between Shrawan 2078 and the end of Asar 2079.

67 lakh 78 thousand 371 liters of various types of foreign liquor were imported into Nepal at the above-mentioned price during that time period.

Nepal imported foreign liquor worth 1 Arba 60 crore 8 lakh 5 thousand rupees more in the fiscal year 2078-79 than in the fiscal year 2077-78. According to department statistics, foreign liquor worth 2 Arba 65 crore 7 lakh 11 thousand rupees was imported into Nepal during the previous fiscal year 2077-78.

In the last fiscal year 2078-79, Nepal imported whiskey worth 2.37 Arba 56 lakh 7 thousand rupees, a wine worth 38 crores 1 lakh 99 thousand rupees, gin worth 1 crore 25 lakh 90 thousand rupees, and vodka worth 1 crore 28 lakh 86 thousand rupees.

Nepal imports alcohol from various countries like Belgium, China, Germany, India, Ireland, Serbia, Singapore, Australia, Chile, Italy, Japan, South Africa, Spain, America, Argentina, France, Vietnam, Ireland, Portugal, and New Zealand.
