The stock market will be open on Friday from the upcoming Jestha. Earlier, the market was open only five days a week (Sunday to Thursday) but now it will be open on Friday as well. The Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) ordered the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) to open the market from Jestha on Friday.

Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Board Ramesh Kumar Hamal said that NEPSE has been asked to keep the market open on Friday as well, speaking at the program held by the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI).

Since the government declared Saturday and Sunday official holidays beginning in Jestha, the stock market could only be operating four days a week. However, as per the SEBON directive, the market will be open five days a week as usual.
